So you want to stream, huh? While the big shot streamers like Ninja and Dr DisRespect make it look easy, there is actually a lot of work behind the scenes and certain things you need to have to make it happen. If you're still interested in becoming a streamer then here are 5 things that will help you start a great stream!
1. Streaming Compatible Device
Streaming has come a long way in the past couple of years and it has become a lot more accessible to individuals interested in pursuing it. In the past, you would have to have a PC and some sort of capture device to get your game on the internet. Now you can stream straight from a console like an Xbox One or a PS4. While a good PC is still superior for a good stream, not everyone has enough money for that and the console will do just fine.

2. Choose a Platform
Okay, so you have something that can be used to stream your game, but where are you going to show off your content? Streamers need to decide where they want to stream their content and there are plenty of options out there. The biggest platform is Twitch.tv . Many of the biggest streamers either stream there currently or rose to fame on that platform. Microsoft's Mixer.com is making a name for itself as some of the largest streamers have moved over to that platform. Lets not forget about YouTube and Facebook gaming, both sites offer a streaming service that could be taken advantage of!

3. Good Internet Connection
Nothing is worse than playing a game and the internet lags either causing a loss or just sheer frustration, so what would make you think people would want to watch a laggy stream? While most of the platforms recommend at least 8 Mbps upload speed, I have noticed anything 40+ works best, especially for higher resolution streams. Wire in your console or PC for a better connection to the internet and better quality streams.

4. Microphone
While a microphone is not required to stream, it makes it easier to interact with you viewers and allow them to hear your personality and communication while playing games. Microphones can range from a cheap headset microphone to a mixer and xlr setup that can cost upwards of hundreds of dollars. Audio is very important, so if you have a lower quality mic, make sure you are following steps to make the audio sound better and get rid of background noise.

5. Face Cam
A camera is definitely not required when it comes to streaming and some streamers make it by without one, but almost every big streamer has a camera being implemented on their stream in some way. Being able to see a persons face and emotions just adds to the streaming experience and makes it enjoyable for the viewers to watch. Camera shy? Don't worry, some streamers use their camera to show their keyboard or controller so that viewers can see how they use their devices to their best potential. Most of the cameras used in streaming are USB and can be used on any compatible device.
